What’s new at EricBrooks.Com plus newz and gossip all over CyberTown
- Dollheads.Com - wow… I can’t believe it’s been a year and a half since Faith & I wrote to each other. Always witty, always funny, always a pleasure. Tons of craft ideas and an inside peek of the life of her Wonderdog and Gassy but lovable cat. Her journal is so damn good it’s often plagiarized by others, and she has a book coming out in 2002.
What a cutie, it was great to hear from her again! :0) Go check her site out!
- SHOUTcast - So what are you waiting for? Bonnie Burton’s doing it, so is Al and Oliver Willis… Eventually, so will renob & SpoogE…
I’m talking about making your own internet radio show, streaming MP3 technology bay-bee! SHOUTcast shows you how it’s done.
At the sound of the tone, my main counter will be at 999,145…
Which means Eric Brooks.Com® will have its ONE MILLIONTH VISITOR blowing through in a matter of hours…. hee hee!

(Yeah, it’s been a while… I just don’t have the time I used to for surfing around….)
Normally, I try to show off some of my friends and their homepages (in compliance with my “I Support My Friends Policy”), this weekend, I thought I’d share some lesser-known dev-sites I like to haunt:
The PHP Resource Index - So you wanna use PHP??? This site has tons of resources, snippets of code, and everything you need to code in PHP. From the makers of the The CGI Resource index.
HTML Goodies - Everything you wanted to know about HTML, CSS, Java, DHTML and beyond, but were afraid to ask. Great tutorials, and totally rocks when your boss wants you to add a last-minute onClick function or something. Not that something like that has ever happened to me or anything. :0)
Extreme Flash - Tutorials, samples, faq… and even Photoshop tutorials and Midi links. You’ll be a master of Flash in no time!
Streaming Media World - What the title says… all you need to make your presentations streaming (like E-TV)… Real Audio, MP3’s, MPEG-4, news and more!
FTLS’s Free Perl CGI Scripts - A whole bunch of great (and FREE) CGI scripts.
(Pssst! Hey, got a site you want showcased as a “Weekend Surf Pick”??? Drop me a line, and save me countless hours searching for it!)

- Frank Frazetta Art Gallery - Anyone who aspired to be a comic book artist in the ’70’s and ’80’s usually pauses in awe when the name "Frazetta" is uttered by us mere mortals. Moi? I WORSHIPPED the guy!!!! His site is packed with all of the artwork he’s done over the years. Great site… designed and maintained by Frank Frazetta, Jr.
- Kepi’s Outpost - A very entertaining site by Jeff Jensen. Lots of entertainment here including "The Poopie Page", to let you know who’s on their Sh*t list this week; The Link Lounge; Web’s most beautiiful women; You can play "Tailgunner";
Countdown to Jeff and Amy’s wedding; And "Kepi’s Cool Site of the Month"… well, who can argue with their taste? :0)

- Magic Fonts - A site offering customized fonts. Some really cool ones available for download.
- Bat World - Sanctuary - A really cool site about the different species of bats. Myths & rumours, educational information. (Say it with me, kiddies: BATS ARE OUR FRIENDS!!!!)
They also offer cool downloads on the site, like desktop wallpaper, to keep your sister (or wife or small children) the hell away from your computer while you’re at work.
Uhm…..school. I meant to say "school." :0)

Go away… I’m busy remixing an album (details to follow).
Go revisit Last Weekend’s.
Funny you should mention Moi & football… back in the halcyon days of the 80’s, I was constantly asked if I was a close relative of Jets Lineman Joe Klecko
(I guess being 5′ 8" was most people’s first clue that I wasn’t actually him).

- Red & Proud.Com - A vast library of all things redhead; Male, female, famous & fictional. Created by redhead Simon Cheetham.
- -=ChelleCam=- - When you’re as photogenic as this young lady, you can have a site dedicated to her cam pics. She even has her own Yahoo Fan Club. Oh yeah, she blogs too. (And I really like the "Coke" statement she’s making on the screen tonight!).
- Tacky Christmas Lights Page - HEE HEE!!!!! Someone has to journal all the people who overdo it for Christmas… Dean Clean does it, and does it well! The highlight of the site is his "Hate Mail" section. Hell he gets more than I do!!! :0)
- Trudy’s Bitchin’ Hats - Brand spankin’ new blog by Rune…check it out!

- Personality Creations - Jackie Capps is another phenomenally talented lady. Packed with clip art, craft tips, games… if you somehow manage to get through everything that site has to offer, you can send personalized letters for all occasions at her other site, All Letters.Com… a definite site worth bookmarking to return around the Holidays for the kids (Don’t worry, I’ll remind you… Actually, I’m reminding you NOW!!!).
- DaVinci Graphics Gallery - It’s been said that DaVinci knows more about Adobe Photoshop than the folks who’ve designed it. Best known for designing the logo for The Phrozen Crew site, I’ve gotta say, DaVinci is my design idol!!!! Packed with high-resolution graphics in this portfolio, may take a while to load… but definitely worth it!!!! Tons of great tutorials to make you a PhotoShop Master in no time!
- Stephanie Schaff’s Kick-Ass Website - Another sweet soul who has signed my guestbook. Features her family, an ode to a really lucky guy, and great photos from her trip to Rome for World Youth Day 2000. Check ‘em out!
- AleciaLand- A great personal page packed with pearls of wisdom like : "If your mother hates your small dog, keep her away from the vacuum.", "Reading what big kids scratch on desks can teach you a lot.", and "The name Eric is forever reserved for those with off-the-charts hottness aptitude ."
Yeah… I like this site. A lot! :0)

Will resume next weekend with a load of cool stuff… just too busy!
Quote of the week:
"I am turning into one of those jerks who is “too busy” to answer his email. The tragic truth is that I am too busy. "
- Jeffrey Zeldman -
Moi? I’ve always been a jerk, so that was never a problem. But the fact is, *I* have spent very little time online since the end of October (The full story coming to a SoApBoX near you real soon).
Lately I have been very involved in Do It Right Construction: Writing proposals, going on sales, making TurboCad drawings for permits, watching the Britney Spears nipple video, and playing Carole’s attorney and business partner (since obviously neither of them were worth a shit). See you all real soon & if you wrote me recently, expect a reply in the next few months & know I still love you, ok?
Your CyberPal,
-e-
P.S.: You crack me up! :0)

- PizzaDude - This site is just too cute! I love it. Download free fonts, clip art and more. Designed by Jakob Fischer, not only a kindergarten teacher in Denmark, but obviously a very talented designer & artist as well.
(See what happens when you say nice things in my guestbook?)
- Goodbye Mommy - Jeffrey Zeldman heartbreakingly struggles and seeks closure with his mom’s condition. She’s had Alzheimers for a number of years now. I can tell you from lots of good folks I’ve had to watch endure this… You don’t know what pain is, until the woman who has brought you into the world looks at you like you’re a total stranger. And you can’t do a damn thing about it. It’s like a part of you has been erased, in the cruelest practical joke nature has yet to fling at us.
"My Mom loved me when I was a baby. She loved me when my brother came along. She loved me when I was a teenaged drug addict. A promising college student. A hopeful young writer. An ad man. A drunk. She loved me, she loved me, she loved me. That’s what Moms do."
As always, I wish the very best to you and your Dad, my friend.

Bobbi Billard - The Official Website of Bikini, Lingerie, professional wrestler and Fitness Model Bobbi Billard. Like, WHOAH, okay? She has her own cam, chatroom , tons of pics & lots of stuff to keep us guys happy campers. I made a desktop theme for my own personal use (shot on the left is what’s on my desktop), once I get permission from her, it may be available for download there and at Free Stuff.
Did I forget to mention she’s drop-dead gorgeous?
- IMSI Free Downloads- Via a promotion form Art Today… I have no idea how long this promotion will run, but they’re giving away FREE software: Turbocad 2D, Floorplan LT, FormTool Free, and a whole lot more. Fully functional, no expiration dates. Given the line of work I’m in now, I’m saving the biz a fortune. I don’t know what the catch is yet, but I’m not asking questions…
- Binary Bliss - Even more free toys for your computer, Desktop Utilities, MP3 tools, HTML and document Publishing tools… all free.

- Poconos Celestial Place - A nice site with a lot of great pictures… thus blowing my stereotype of the "fat, toothless" women of the Poconos. :0) It’s the personal page of PoconoGrl aka Lissa Lee aka owner and proprietor of BODY Kneadz® Massage, right here in the Poconos… she hangs out with us at our Pocono Internet Professionals Yahoo Club
Wow… a pretty girl in the Poconos. Imagine that.
- Blog Party - I don’t know when Wendell did it (I’ve been away for a while)… but the new redesign TOTALLY ROCKS! Just so ya know dude, everytime I saw that ripoff Nick-At-Nite did of your site all summer long… I thought of ya! ;0)
Speaking of "Linky Love"… a belated Thanx to Faith, Jeff, Matt, Suzie, The Webmistress, & Kare_D for the birthday wishes two weeks ago… what can I say, I suck! I’m so far behind in email too, it ain’t funny!. And if I left anyone out… I really, REALLY SUCK!!!! (These folks could’ve wished Blogger, Barbara Eden, Gene Kelly or Rick Springfield a happy birthday on that day… but instead, they chose me!!! Thanx!!! ::SNIFF::)
